Well hello there all you beautiful people! I’m back after what seems like a whirlwind of a month and have so much to share – but that’s for another post 🙂 For this one, I’ve partnered up with Travelstart to give you a few tips to make your next flight with kids awesome! (PS. Sometimes men can be like kids too, just putting it out there lol)
Being a single mother that moved to a different city was a monumental change, and not a lot of people know that I moved to Cape Town without my daughter for the first 3 months whilst I got school sorted for her. Saying that it was one of the most difficult things that I had to do would be an understatement. As much as I skyped her every single night, I still cried for twice as long afterwards and just wanted to hold her. But moving to a different city comes with all sorts of expenses, so I didn’t really have cash to splurge on flights every weekend. My other half was a great help and I was able to fly to Durban at the end of every month, it wasn’t a lot of time but it really helped. When she finally did make the move with me, her first flight was so emotional – she was leaving most of her family and friends behind, but she was starting this new life with me in a different city. I’m sure her excitement helped make the 2 hour long trip a bit more bearable. But who are we kidding? No kid wants to sit still for 2 hours on a seemingly small space, heck, even a car ride to school is rough sometimes lol. We do fly back home a couple of times a year so when Travelstart contacted me about this post, I was thrilled! So without further ado, here are some awesome tips for travelling with children (yes man-children too lol!)
I hope that these tips help make your next trip easier, because as much as it’s the destination that’s important, having a good journey really helps make the whole experience a lot better. Also, you should really check out Travelstart’s website, they have some great specials on flights and let you compare prices.
So take that trip, plan a beautiful FAMILY holiday and make some memories.
Until next time
